Hello Cross on the Rock’ers (and everyone out there in TV Land)….did you miss us for the last week….are you READY to race this weekend? It looks like the forecast is forever changing the last few days….for the better. Still might be a bit nippy but it might be clear now. IFFFF there is snow on Saturday we are asking that everyone bring shovels and brooms to help clear the course. Unless there is a total blizzard and the roads up to Shawnigan Lake are closed down….the race will be a GO. It is cross….a winter sport….we can’t let anything stand in our way….plus after you watch this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iuxnUZyzs30 from Gary Croome…..well we don’t want to appear soft to the rest of the world now do we?
SO this Sunday. Island Championships. Shawnigan Lake School. Last chance to race cross on Vancouver Island this year. Last race of the series. Double Points. Series Championships. A LOT of draw prizes. Series Awards. Series Draw Prizes. We will have the fireplace going. There will be food. There will be warm drinks. There are showers. The course will be awesome (again) Great Course…..what else can I tell you. Lets get a great turn out and see everyone there….if EVERYONE that raced this year came out we would have a race of 259 people! That is a lot of people racing cross on the island! Support the sport. Support cross. Support the series! Lets race!! (PSSST: No shoes in the clubhouse)
Also confirmed: Jason from Lambert will be at the finals with tent and tools to help out.
Race guide is published and on the web site tomorrow for all the details and information you need.
CHECK YOUR POINTS BEFORE THE WEEKEND!
TRAILER FUND
We had a major contribution from the Everti Cycling Club of $500 toward the trailer. They have put a challenge out to the other clubs to step it up as well…..we gotta get this trailer! I will fire an update out after the last race and we hope it will be a GO! (Plus I think Curtis wants it out of his driveway). Thanks Everti!
